David Lawrence: PDAs?
Patrick Hinojosa: Sure, anything that is running an operating system, where you are going to put files in it and do something with the file. You know whether its*
David Lawrence: Anywhere there is an executable.
Patrick Hinojosa: Yeah, anywhere there is an executable, there is a possibility. The probability is low however, the probability is not low that you will put a file on to that device. That device may not use but your PC does and so when you sync up and transfer data--
David Lawrence: So in some cases it is just a carrier, it has no actual damage to the carrier. It sounds like a parasite.
Patrick Hinojosa: That type would vary.
David Lawrence: Yeah, again going back to the SD possibility where you take an SD disk and taking from your cell phone and put it back in your PC.
Patrick Hinojosa: Yeah, exactly it is almost like a sneakernet days except with these you know smart devices. So you can transfer stuff to your PC so there is a lot of vectors to get into your computer to infect it unfortunately.
David Lawrence: Right and still they are paying attention mostly to Microsoft: A) Because Microsoft is the great you know beast giant in the Northwest and B) They get much more play from the media.
Patrick Hinojosa: Well, also you get much more chance to spread your infection.
David Lawrence: Right.
Patrick Hinojosa: It*s ubiquitous.
David Lawrence: Is there that many machines. So if you go to pandachallenge.com you will find all of the latest products waiting for you there as well as you know tips on how to do things and if you go to Panda*s site. Is active search or active scan still?
Patrick Hinojosa: Yeah, that*s a great one
David Lawrence: This is one of the opportunities and now other companies have copied you. You were the first to do this, where people can actually go online and have their machines scanned. Is that necessarily slower than scanning with a executable on your machine?

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
