David Lawrence: This is David Lawrence with a Panda software virus alert. Panda TruPrevent Technology has discovered Drew.A and Yanz.A low threat worms that both affect all Windows platforms back to 95, including XP then they spread via E-mail and a message with variable characteristics and through Peer-to-Peer file sharing programs. Now Drew.A deletes files with *.txt* and *.htm* extensions. Yanz.A opens Port 67 and runs any executable file that is remotely downloaded through this port including Malware, Adware. Yanz.A attempts to kill REGEDIT.EXE, and MSCONFIG.EXE. Yanz.A always refers to the singer Sun Yan Zi. So there you go. Make sure your machine is safe from infection. Go to PandaChallenge.com for a free sweep of your hard drive and special pricing on Panda products. That*s PandaChallenge.com.

David Lawrence: Oh my! Hold on one second I will get right to you I promise. My name is David Lawrence the name of the show is the David Lawrence Show. And we are thrilled to be part of your life on Saturday night and on Sunday and all throughout the week. It is ten minutes past the hour. Thanks for tuning in I appreciate it very much. We are going to take more calls this hour and we are going to talk about some news that has happened. We will get some instant messages to get to. We have got some E-mail we got to oh so much and more. So just stand by more coming with the show. Got an instant message here Ed Clam Live that*s his instant message your name says, *Okay to install Windows XP Service Pack 2?* Well first of all let me just say Ed that, that is the perfect instant message. Short, sweet one sentence not a big long diatribe about hey I have got a computer that*s a Pentium III with the bla, bla, bla it is perfect just perfect. So okay do install Windows XP Service Pack 2 oh you bet here. If and this is a big if, if you have actually done everything that you need to do to prepare your machine for Service Pack 2 and that includes going through a fairly lengthy check list about the applications, the versions that you have on there whether or not you have had other upgrades and so on. It*s really an intricate process and it*s really its worth doing. Because really the best situation is to be in is with a machine that has successfully updated XP the Service Pack 2. You want to be on a machine that actually has Service Pack 2 on there. Now the question is whether or not your machine is ready for Service Pack 2 and there is a great article that David Pogue in the New York Times wrote about how to check your machine to see if in fact you are ready for Service Pack 2. If you are not a member of the New York Times registration then go, go register and don*t use any of those sites that fake out the registration. Because they don*t spam you they just uncheck wanted to get ads and that*s do on. Go register and look up in the Circuits column that*s what David writes the Circuits column. Look up his preparing for Windows XP Service Pack 2 column from fall of this past year. It*s a fascinating read, it*s based on what others have had experience wise with Service Pack 2 those that have been successful those who have not. And it boils down to be unprepared. It*s like been a boys* scout, all boys down to be unprepared. So that*s what I would say to do yes its worth doing but only if your machine is capable of getting it done. So let*s go back to the phones. We were talking to Rick before the top of the hour and Rick was talking about Mac versus Windows. What was the second part of your question I forget?

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
