David Lawrence: Right, you may not have gone and changed the links back to what they were before.

Jeff: I didn*t write anything on the other pages, it seems like it--

David Lawrence: Okay without looking at the HTML code, I am sure it*s something as simple as changing the links back to the *.mp3 file* link. But the point is what you want to do is not use a CGI, there is no reason to use a CGI in this case. It*s very straightforward in terms of streaming at mp3 file.

Jeff: But you don*t think that CGI script code have been, I mean I ran everything I could think of it, you don*t, instead of corrupted that, see I upload everything to my FTP server actually.

David Lawrence: It doesn*t matter; your FTP server is nothing but a way to look at your hard drive on your server with a different tool. As long as you can access the path to your files then you should be fine. Now if you are saying that the FTP site that you upload to is different from your website that*s a whole different question. You should be able to FTP directly to the directories that your website are, that makeup your website. So if you have yourwebsite.com/audio you can either use a browser to look in that directory, if they are HTML file or if they are other files, or you can use a FTP tool like WSFTP or cute FTP on the PC or Fetch or you know there is a million different ones transfer. On the Mac, you should be able to look at those directories in the same hierarchy no matter what just with a different way of getting to them. FTP is file transfer, HTTP is your web browser.

Jeff: Right.

David Lawrence: So there is no way that the CGI BIN, unless it*s a rogue CGI file that corrupts your data, which is next to impossible to do. There is no reason why that CGI would have anything to do with what*s going on, I am sure what*s going on now is either when you put the CGI file and you didn*t accurately change the HTML to reflect what the CGI BIN was doing.

Jeff: Right.

David Lawrence: Or you did and you didn*t change it back yet, but either way the right thing to do is use *.M3U* file to stream those mp3s and don*t worry about the CGI, okay.

Jeff: Well how do you change it back, how you change it back if okay, I put it in, I got rid of all of it you know because there was a text file that said put into the subdirectory. I have put that in it disappeared you know got rid of everything and now all that*s gone but now I cannot even click on any of the audio pages that I have put up, that I have been working for the last few months, to even just you know, you can*t download it--

David Lawrence: Again I am not sure that, do you know how to correctly form an anchor tag?
