David Lawrence: This is David Lawrence with a Panda software virus alert. Panda Labs TruPrevent Technology has discovered Drew.A and Yanz.A low threat worms that both affect all Windows platforms back till 95, including XP then they spread via E-mail and a message with variable characteristics, and through Peer-to-Peer file sharing programs. Now Drew.A deletes files with *.txt* and *.htm* extensions. Yanz.A opens Port 67 and runs any executable file that is remotely downloaded through this port including Malware, Adware. Yanz.A attempts to kill REGEDIT.EXE, and MSCONFIG.EXE. Yanz.A always refers to the singer Sun YanZi. So there you go. Make sure your machine is safe from infection. Go to PandaChallenge.com for a free sweep of your hard drive and special pricing on Panda products. That*s PandaChallenge.com.

David Lawrence: Thank you for tuning into the show. It is Online Tonight and we are in the middle of taking your phone calls on technology pop culture the internet that PC or Macintosh that sitting on your desk or in your bag the cell phones we use the iPods and the other MP3 devices that we carry around with us, concepts like back ups and Pop ups and Malware Adware, it*s all available for you here on the show. If you have questions we love those especially if you are new to computing we love helping our people that are brand new to computing. With simple questions, questions that most people wouldn*t think to ask it*s always an eye-opener to see people use machines for the first time. What we consider to be those of us that have used machines for a while use computers for a while we consider to be all that is very, very confusing to people from time to time. And so it*s always good to get somebody on the show who is interested in finding out more about the basics. We love those questions. Here*s our toll free telephone number 180039 online 18003966546 and we go to Mike first up, hey Mike.

Mike: Now listen I got online I heard you say on the radio something about norm firewall. I have the Blue Package with Staples which does have Panda*s firewall.

David Lawrence: The Blue Package from Staples.

Mike: Yeah there are green package blue package.

David Lawrence: Oh the different Panda software package yeah one is Titanium and one is Platinum.

Mike: I did buy it, I use Platinum.

David Lawrence: With a notched corner.

Mike: Yeah it will be so.

David Lawrence: Yeah okay.

Mike: How does the Panda firewall stand up against ZoneAlarm?

David Lawrence: Its fine its terrific its not free when we were taking our last caller who said I am using I don*t know what the, you know he didn*t even know what the firewall was that he was using. If you are going to be using a firewall and you don*t know what it is there is a very good chance you probably not using it correctly.
