From the supplier: The National Broadcaster Editorial Assn, which has merged with the National Conference of Editorial Writers, is still engaged in a fight with the FCC regarding rules that govern editorials in broadcasting and cable. The case was filed by the Radio Television News Directors Assn and the National Assn of Broadcasters. However, this is a case which has very little to gain despite being a First Amendment issue. Very few stations are broadcasting editorials and the only ones left to be regulated are broadcast and cable editorial writers and radio talk shows.

Lawyer Calls ACA Retrans Conspiracy Complaints ?Stink Bombs?
The American Cable Association shot back at several TV-station owners and the National Association of Broadcasters Friday, over allegations this week that accused the cable lobbying group of conspiring to prompt small cable systems to file frivolous complaints with federal regulators.img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/MultichannelBreakingNews/~4/461208611" height="1" width="1"/ Click Here To Read More... • NAB Works Hard to Prep U.S. for Digital Transition

Today Qualcomm scored a huge coup for its MediaFLO mobile television service by winning the right to broadcast the Victoria?s Secret Fashion Show and to create a 27/7 channel devoted to the event. All MediaFLO subscribers will be able to watch the broadcast when it airs on Dec. 3. The fashion show pulled in a television audience last year of 6.5 million, exactly mirroring the number of people who are watching any form of mobile TV, which includes options other than MediaFLO. For some reason there is a faction that doesn?t grasp the meaning of the word ?valuable.? Let me spell it for you: v-a-l-u-a-b-l-e, as in Most Valuable Player. It is not a synonym for outstanding or best. Valuable means having great use or service, in other words the Most Valuable Player is the one whose service was the greatest for his team, and in the world of sports, greatness is determined by winning. Gritty and great Dustin Pedroia is perhaps one of the least likely MVP winners of all • Hitting Wildmon-AFA's Bigotry
Folk Bum has a post displaying the American Family Association?s (AFA) promotion of a Christmas-lighted cross that appears precisely like the image of a burning cross. And the AFA is drawing howls. ?The American Family Association--they of the our-morality-for-all bent--is offering a sweet new Xmas gift,? laughs Folk Bum. "The American Family Association has really topped themselves," observes John Cole. The AFA?s founder is of course one Donald Wildmon?a self-proclaimed decency advocat
