Steve Jobs: Apple & Ipod Wizard (Essential Lives Set 2)
By: Scott Gillam
List Price: $32.79
Amazon Price: $20.67

CUSTOMER REVIEW:
Picture Book?
Having read just about everything that has been written about Steve Jobs I was anxious to get this "new" book and it arrived this week.

Sadly, I'm still trying to figure out if this work was intended for children or some such target audience? The book itself is small and there is a picture on nearly every page. What's missing is the written content. The font size used is huge meaning each page contains about 40-50 words plus a picture. You do the math and figure if this is a good deal.

Save your money on this one. It isn't bad information -- there simply is nothing new here and the format makes me believe that the publisher simply put a 3000 word magazine article into book format.

Getting to the Core: An IDC Teardown Analysis of the Apple iPod Shuffle
By: IDC
List Price: $3,500.00
Amazon Price: $3,500.00

Product Description

This IDC examines the bill of materials of the new Apple iPod Shuffle compressed audio player, with a particular emphasis on the semiconductor components, and analyzes the findings.

"The Apple iPod Shuffle provided some silicon vendor surprises when we did our teardown. Additionally, the design itself shows some significant mixed-signal integration on the core components, but very little integration overall. Despite this, we are impressed at the margins Apple appears to be getting on the product." ? IdaRose Sylvester, senior research analyst, IDC Semiconductors
