Dr. John Gilroy: Helped build neurosciences center (Detroit Free Press)

A memorial service will be held Saturday for Dr. John Gilroy, a nationally renowned neurologist whose vision and dedication led to the establishment of the Neurosciences Center of Excellence at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Dr. Gilroy died Nov. 13 at his Bloomfield Hills home after a lengthy bout with Alzheimer's disease. He was 83.
